Julie's Bio

Julie began her quest for all things natural in the early 90’s. She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Art History in 1988. She completed Anne-Marie Colbin’s Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health in New York City in 1993. She started and ran her own business, The Sacred Beet, in Dayton where she cooked five-course five-element balanced meals out of her home while supporting local, organic, sustainable farms. In the mid-1990's, she was the chef of Cafe Voltaire, a vegetarian cafe in Chicago.

All the while she practiced yoga, received Shiatsu, and focused on natural health methods of healing. After starting a family, Julie began studying and practicing Shiatsu in 1998. She is part of the Ohashiatsu curriculum from Evanston, IL and is a certified and insured member of ABMP. Julie has reverence for all inhabitants of life in this here and now. She places spirituality, motherhood, respect, and compassion above all else. These qualities are just natural compliments to her innate healing capabilities.
